The Longevity Slight of Hand

 

I don't know about you, but I get bombarded with an onslaught of "THIS will extend your life" products, commercials, ads, and posts a number of times a day. Everyday. It really is interesting to see the cycle of ads. How they are pushed. Who is doing the pushing. And even more interesting is to look back 1 to 2 months and see if those same products are still being pushed, or has our attention been led to the next bright, shiny product, ad, commercial, or post.

 

Look at resveratrol, the ingredient found in purple grapes and red wine. This has been touted as a massive longevity 'hack'. (I HATE that word!). Dr. David Sinclair put resveratrol as a major part of his best selling book. But the reality of this is that you have to drink bottles of red wine daily to get even the slightest push, which is just unreasonable. (yes, I know, but you are willing to try....) And then there is the documented adverse affects of alcohol that you'd have to deal with. 

 

NMN has been published to be longevity hack. So NMN has been highly advertised, publicised and commercialized. Even the pre-cursors to NMN have been pushed. The part that is not pushed is that in humans there just isn't much research to show that what is said is what is done.

 

Longevity is really much simpler to reach than we have been advertised about.

 

Start with this simple concept that I talk about in my office daily, and is a core philosophy of Empire Longevity: health and longevity are your default programs in your body.

Here is a very simple idea for you: Longevity is you doing daily healthy things. 

 

What are those daily healthy things?

 

LONGEVITY STEPS

 

1. we have to take time for mental rest and focus. This is done by meditation, prayer, walks in nature, or listening to instrumental music.

 

2. rocket fuel. Stop kidding yourself about what you eat. Ask yourself "would I feed this t my infant child, or my dog?" If you wouldn't, then 86 it from your meal plans. Food can either increase your chances of cancer and disease, or dramatically decrease them. Which do you choose.

 

3. motion. The incredibly simplistic idea that just walking on a daily basis can have profound positive effects is staggering. Just look at the Japanese. A country who has proportinally less gyms and spas, but lives a decade to a decade and a half longer than we Americans walks MUCH more than we do. If you dive into the the MOTION portion of Empire Longevity's Pyramid of Health you will see that we discuss the "5 Aspects of Motion".

 

4. great sleep. When we sleep we repair, we heal and can then better adapt to lives stresses. But boy do we screw this one up. Remember how regimented you were about your infant baby's sleep and how important that was? Why are we not the same with our own?

 

5. an optimized nervous system. This incredible key is really only talked about by me in the longevity universe. If you are not built right, you can not work right. You can not reach your longevity potential. We test your nervous system to find out just how stressed you are, and then make plans based on that testing for you.

 

See, when you want to take the publicized, advertised, and commercialized (I sound like Muhammad Ali here...) products, those products WORK BETTER WHEN YOU WORK BETTER.

 

We need to start with a basic foundation, we need to get back to our innate health, our innate longevity and don't be blinded by the next flashy bright light. (do you remember when acai berry was being pushed everywhere? where are those people now? Oh, they went on to the NEXT product)

 

Start your longevity path with the foundational ideas and steps that have been shown to push longevity. THEN add in the other products. This is easier, and dramatically less expensive.

 

As I stated above: Longevity is you doing daily healthy things.
